PLAY by Alexander Ekman

PLAY was commissioned for the Paris Opera Ballet in 2017. Perhaps you know it for its iconic scene in which millions of green plastic balls literally rain on stage. The world he created with the extensive sets and live music is a crowd pleaser every year! 

I wasn’t there during the original creation, but I was asked to come help revive it. It was surreal for me to be (then) 24 years old and rehearsal director for a few weeks at the Paris Opera. With Alex as mentor, I learned a lot on how to manage big groups and plan rehearsal time for full evening works.
